Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains how Munday Golf collects, uses and protects your personal information when you join our pre-launch waitlist or otherwise interact with our website. We're committed to handling your data lawfully, transparently and only for the purposes you'd expect.
1. Who we are
Munday Golf Limited (Companies House number 17160456, registered in England & Wales) is the data controller responsible for your personal data. We are a UK-based pre-launch e-commerce business preparing to sell branded golf balls.
For any privacy-related questions or requests, contact us at privacy@mundaygolf.co.uk.
We are not currently registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Most UK organisations that process personal data must register and pay a small annual fee — we will complete this registration before formal trading begins, and update this policy with our registration number at that time.
2. What personal data we collect
When you join our waitlist, we collect:
- Your email address — entered directly into our waitlist form.
- Technical metadata — your IP address, browser type and approximate location, captured automatically by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and email service provider (Mailchimp) for security and abuse prevention.
- Submission timestamp — the date and time you joined the list.
We do not collect any other personal data through this site. We do not ask for your name, address, payment details or any sensitive information.
3. Why we collect it and our legal basis
We use your email address to:
- Send you a confirmation email when you join the waitlist (this is required by our double opt-in process).
- Notify you when Munday Golf launches and is available to buy.
- Occasionally share related pre-launch updates (e.g. early-access offers, brand reveals) where directly relevant to the launch.
The legal basis we rely on is your consent, which you give by submitting the waitlist form and confirming via the double opt-in email. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking "unsubscribe" in any email we send, or by emailing privacy@mundaygolf.co.uk.
4. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for marketing purposes. We use the following third-party processors who handle your data on our behalf:
- Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group LLC, USA) — stores your email address and delivers our emails. Mailchimp's privacy notice.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) — hosts the website and provides security, including basic analytics and bot protection. Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Adobe Inc. (USA) — serves the typefaces used on this site (Adobe Fonts). May log basic request data (IP, referrer). Adobe's privacy policy.
- Google LLC (USA) — serves additional typefaces (Google Fonts). May log basic request data (IP, referrer). Google's privacy policy.
We may also disclose your data if required by law (e.g. a court order) or to protect our legal rights.
5. International transfers
The processors listed above are based in the United States. When your personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and/or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement as the legal mechanism for that transfer, ensuring an equivalent level of protection to UK GDPR.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep your email address on our waitlist for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data, we will remove it from our active list within 30 days. Mailchimp may retain anonymised aggregate records (e.g. campaign open rates) after deletion; these cannot be linked back to you.
If we have not launched within 24 months of you joining the waitlist, we will email you to ask if you would like to remain subscribed. If we receive no response, we will remove your data.
7. Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Right to restrict processing — ask us to pause using your data while a query is resolved.
- Right to data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to object — object to our processing on grounds relating to your particular situation.
- Right to withdraw consent — at any time, with no detriment.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@mundaygolf.co.uk. We will respond within one calendar month.
8. How to complain
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please get in touch with us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
- Website: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint
- Helpline: 0303 123 1113
- Post: Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF
9. Cookies and similar technologies
Munday Golf does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. We use the following non-cookie technologies:
- Browser localStorage — we store a list of email addresses that have been submitted from your browser, so that if you submit the same address again you receive an immediate "you're already on the list" message rather than a duplicate confirmation. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. You can clear it at any time via your browser settings.
- Cloudflare's security cookie (if enabled) — a strictly necessary cookie used by our hosting provider to identify trusted web traffic and protect against malicious bots. No cookie consent banner is required for strictly necessary cookies.
10. Children's data
Our website is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted their data to us, please email privacy@mundaygolf.co.uk and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if we add new processors, change how we use your data, or once Munday Golf is formally incorporated and registered with the ICO. Where changes are significant, we will notify you by email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
12. Contact
